IPL Daily is committed to accuracy. We take responsibility for the information we publish and we correct mistakes promptly, transparently, and prominently. This Correction Policy explains how we handle errors, the types of corrections we make, and how readers can request corrections.
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
Cricket statistics, scores, schedules, and player records change frequently. While we take every reasonable measure to publish accurate content — including cross-checking against multiple primary sources — errors can occur. When they do, we believe in correcting them openly rather than quietly editing them away.
2. Types of Errors and How We Handle Them
2.1 Minor Errors (Typos, Grammar, Formatting)
Minor errors such as spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, broken links, or formatting issues are corrected silently without a public notice. These do not affect the factual content of the article.
2.2 Factual Errors
If an article contains a factual error — incorrect statistics, wrong player names, inaccurate match details, misattributed quotes, or outdated information presented as current — we will:
- Correct the article as soon as possible after verification (within 48 hours of confirmation).
- Add a clearly visible “Correction Notice” at the bottom of the article describing what was wrong, what has been corrected, and the date of correction.
- Update the article’s “Last Updated” date.
2.3 Significant Errors
If an error materially changes the meaning or conclusion of an article (for example, a wrong final score, misidentified player in a major statistical claim, or incorrect attribution of a quote), we will:
- Correct the article immediately.
- Publish a prominent correction notice at the top and bottom of the article.
- If the article was shared on our social media channels, post a correction on those channels as well.
- Where appropriate, contact readers who may have been directly affected (e.g., subscribers to relevant newsletters).
2.4 Retractions
In rare cases where an article is fundamentally flawed beyond correction — for example, based on a false premise or unreliable source — we may retract the article. Retracted articles are clearly marked as such, with an explanation of why they were retracted. We do not delete retracted articles; the URL remains live with a retraction notice so readers can see the historical record.
3. How to Report an Error
If you spot an error in any of our articles — a wrong statistic, an incorrect player name, an outdated fact, a broken link, or any other inaccuracy — please report it by email:
Email: contact@ipldaily.com
Subject Line: “Correction Request”
To help us verify and act on your report quickly, please include:
- The full URL of the article containing the error.
- The specific text or claim that is incorrect (a direct quote or screenshot helps).
- The correct information.
- A reliable source supporting the correct information (link to official IPL site, Cricinfo, Cricbuzz, or official team source).
- Your name (optional, but appreciated for credit).
4. Response Times
- We acknowledge all correction requests within 24 hours.
- We verify and act on confirmed corrections within 48 hours.
- During peak IPL season (April–June), response may extend to 72 hours due to publishing volume.
5. Format of Correction Notices
Our correction notices follow a standardized format so readers can quickly understand what changed. Example:
Correction (Issued May 15, 2026): An earlier version of this article stated that Virat Kohli has scored 9 IPL centuries. The correct figure is 8 centuries as of May 15, 2026. The article has been updated to reflect the accurate count. We thank reader Rohan S. for pointing out the error.
6. Updates vs. Corrections
Many articles on IPL Daily — particularly points tables, Orange Cap and Purple Cap standings, schedules, and live match coverage — are updated regularly as new information becomes available. This is not a correction; it is a planned update reflecting new events.
Updates are indicated by a refreshed “Last Updated” date. Corrections, by contrast, are made because something was inaccurate at the time of publication and required fixing.
7. Transparency and Public Record
We believe in transparent journalism. When we correct or retract an article, we keep the correction notice visible permanently — even after the IPL season ends. This creates a public record of our editorial accountability and helps build long-term reader trust.
8. No Suppression of Negative Coverage
We do not remove, edit, or suppress legitimate critical coverage in response to pressure from teams, players, agents, or commercial partners. Requests to remove negative-but-accurate content will be politely declined. We will, however, correct any genuine factual inaccuracy regardless of who reports it.
9. Contact for Corrections
