Guessing what a performance is worth is how fantasy contests are lost. This calculator turns any T20 scorecard line into an exact Dream11 score – runs, wickets, catches, the strike-rate and economy adjustments, and the captain multiplier – so you can judge picks by the number that decides contests. Check a player’s actual record first with the IPL player comparison tool, then price the performance here.

How to Use the Calculator
Set the role and any captain or vice-captain multiplier. Enter the batting line as it appears on the scorecard, then the bowling figures – overs in cricket notation, so 3.4 means 3 overs and 4 balls – and the fielding events. Press calculate. Every applied rule appears as its own row, so you can see exactly where the score came from.
How Dream11 T20 Points Work
Every player picked into the announced XI starts on 4 points. Batting earns 1 point per run, a 1-point bonus per four and 2 per six, with milestone bonuses of 4 for reaching 30, 8 for a fifty and 16 for a century – and by Dream11’s official rule, a century earns only the century bonus. A duck costs a batter, keeper or all-rounder 2 points.
Bowling is where the big swings live: 25 points per wicket (run outs excluded), an extra 8 when it is LBW or bowled, haul bonuses of 4, 8 and 16 for three, four and five wickets, and 12 per maiden. Fielding pays 8 per catch plus a 4-point bonus at three catches, 12 per stumping, 12 for a direct-hit run out and 6 for the thrower or catcher in an assisted one.
Two adjustments trip people up. A batter facing 10 or more balls gets strike-rate points, from +6 above 170 down to -6 below 50. A bowler completing 2 or more overs gets economy points, from +6 below 5.0 down to -6 above 12.0. The captain’s final total is doubled; the vice-captain’s is multiplied by 1.5.
A Worked Example
Take a bowler with figures of 4-0-24-3, two of them bowled, as your captain. Wickets earn 75, the two bowled add 16, the three-wicket haul adds 4, economy of 6.0 adds 2, and the XI bonus adds 4: 101 points, doubled to 202 as captain. That single spell out-scores most half-centuries – which is why the IPL’s leading wicket-takers are fantasy royalty.
Run the calculator both ways before locking a team: your batting star’s realistic score on this surface against a wicket-taking bowler’s. On slow tracks the bowler wins that comparison far more often than reputations suggest, because 25-point events pile up when the ball grips. Our venue pitch reports tell you which grounds those are. One caveat: no calculator prices a last-minute team change, so confirm the XI before deadline.
Frequently Asked Questions – Dream11 Points
How are Dream11 points calculated in T20 matches?
Each real-match event has a fixed value: 1 per run, 25 per wicket, 8 per catch, plus bonuses for boundaries, milestones, maidens and dismissal types, and adjustments for strike rate and economy. A player’s points are the sum of every event, with the captain’s total doubled and the vice-captain’s multiplied by 1.5.
Why did my player get minus points?
Three rules produce negatives: a duck costs a batter, keeper or all-rounder 2 points; a strike rate below 70 off 10 or more balls costs 2 to 6 points; and an economy above 10 across 2 or more overs costs 2 to 6 points. Slow scoring is punished almost as directly as failure.
Does a bowler get points for a run out?
No. The 25-point wicket value excludes run outs, which pay as fielding events instead: 12 for a direct hit, 6 each for the thrower and catcher in an assisted one. A caught-and-bowled, though, pays the bowler as both the wicket and the catch.
Do Super Over performances count for Dream11 points?
No. Dream11 does not award points for anything that happens in a Super Over, because those runs and wickets are not part of a player’s official match record. Final points are settled once the match status shows completed.
